Longtime Asheville resident Chuck Brodsky has been a touring singer-songwriter since 1992. His quirky, finely-honed songs, spanning 14 albums, have been covered by major artists and have appeared in movies and on tv. Twenty-two of his Baseball story-songs are in the National Baseball Hall of Fame sound recording library.
A large part of Chuck’s eclectic music collection is made up of the artists he’s met and shared stages with at festivals and venues all over the USA and Canada, as well as Ireland, Denmark, Scotland, England, Israel, Lithuania, and Latvia. You’ll hear top-shelf songwriting by mostly independent artists who have something to say and really unique ways of saying it, as well as remarkable tunes from all over the world featuring some hot fiddling, picking, and grinning. Some of the best songs and tunes you’ve maybe never heard before.
Chuck’ll play you some of his earliest musical influences, and more recent ones, from artists he holds among the musical and songwriting masters, at times maybe challenging your own notions of what Folk music might be. Tune in Wednesdays at noon for some real gems from the One Big Beautiful World of Folk.
