WPVM is Asheville’s truly independent hometown radio, which means we create all of our local programming entirely by volunteer show hosts and dj’s. By FCC law we are not allowed any commercial advertisements. WPVM receives no financial support other than from our underwriters and donation from our listeners. Our ability to stay on the air is due to financial support of our listeners and we thank you for you financial support and faith in us. In a time when the main stream media is owned by just a few conglomerates, truly independent media is a rare thing.
